In 1998, Amscan Holdings acquired Anagram International, Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minn. Anagram is a manufacturer of metallic greeting balloons. Anagram products are sold in more than 140 countries through International offices in Australia, Canada, France, German, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom. In February 2002, Amscan Holdings expanded its presence with the acquisition of M&D Industries. Focusing mainly on the domestic market, M&D has a portfolio of licenses including many Disney and Nickelodeon character.
