Carrie Downie Elementary School, located in New Castle, Del., is a part of the Colonial School District. The school s staff consists of a nurse, counselor, family crisis therapist, time-out coordinator, educational diagnostician and psychologist. It offers a variety of special programs, such as Title I, talent development, and gifted and talented and special education. Carrie Downie Elementary School also provides classes in instrumental and vocal music. Its academic program includes English, math, science, social studies and language arts.
