Community Music School, founded in 1983 and located in Springfield, Mass., organizes music instruction, participation and exposure accessible programs for students and adults throughout the state. It provides more than 30 instrumental music learning classes in a variety of styles, including European classical, jazz, popular American, Latin and gospel. It organizes a wide range of concerts and recitals, such as master classes, Concerto Grosso, Jazz Jams, and Celebrate Women in Music and Faculty Concerts. The music school organizes special music therapy classes for children with special needs. Its programs are available for children with mental illnesses, physical disabilities, sensorimotor impairments, emotional and behavioral problems for relaxation, stress reduction, and managing pain for enhancing developmental skills.
