The Cookeville Public Works and Engineering Department is a public service department that provides various services, including street safety and maintenance, street sweeping, and maintenance of water and sewer utilities. It is responsible for street maintenance, sidewalk repairs, maintenance of traffic signals, drains, leaf and snow removal, maintaining street signs, stormwater management, and engineering and road projects. It employs more than 60 people and has over 80 vehicles and equipment for providing services.
