It also offers customers specialty services, including film developing, postage and lottery tickets. Cub Foods is a member of the Supervalu family of supermarkets. Supervalu acquired Cub Foods in 1980, when there were five stores in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn., area. Supervalu, based in Minneapolis, ranks among the largest food retailers and food distributors in the United States.
