In 1994, he attended Los Angeles City College and graduated in 1996 with a certificate in dental technology.Soon after, he worked in dental laboratories as a dental technician and attended the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) where he earned his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience in 2003 and a Master of Science in oral biology in 2005.
