Wyoming Medical Center, the states largest medical facility and regional trauma center attracting patients from throughout Wyoming for procedures such as prostate seed implants to fight prostate cancer or to receive deep brain stimulation to reduce essential tremors, or to receive open heart surgery. The facility is a community-owned, nonprofit licensed 206-bed regional medical center which has served the citizens of Wyoming for more than 90 years. Founded in 1911, the facility started as a small rural county hospital with limited reach. In addition to providing the local community with general medical and family care, including delivering nearly 700 new babies a year, WMC offers an extensive range of medical specialties to care for Wyoming citizens who travel from smaller rural towns where specialized medicine is hard to come by. WMC offers more than 40 different medical specialties ranging from urology to pediatrics.
