Poches Market and Restaurant is a true Cajun family establishment. Antoine and Aleda Poch settled the village of Poch Bridge in the year 1859. In this isolated farming community, Antoine, along with his wife and seven children, owned and operated a store and cotton gin near the wooden bridge, which is now known as Poch Bridge. The businesses were later destroyed by fire, seriously affecting Antoines health. Antoines grandson Lug Poch and his wife Eleanor established Poches Market and Restaurant in 1962. Lug prided himself on selling quality products and providing excellent service to his customers. Lug retired in 1976, handing the reins over to his son Floyd, (pictured here with his wife Karen), who in keeping with the traditions set by his father, continues to provide the quality and service his customers have come to expect. Poches Market and Restaurant is a food lovers dream.
