Imagine It!: The Children's Museum of Atlanta is a fun and interactive experience for, you guessed it, kids of all ages, with many exhibits geared toward children eight and younger. Children must be accompanied by an adult and adults must be accompanied by a child. Note that the museum will be closed for renovations beginning August 1, 2015. Follow the museum's Facebook page for the latest details on the upgrade and timing for reopening.

Parking and public transportation at the Children's Museum of Atlanta
Take the MARTA train to the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Station or Peachtree Center Station, both an approximately ten minute walk to the museum. There are multiple paid parking lots and parking decks in the area.

Best and worst time to go to the Children's Museum of Atlanta
Summer is always a busy season in Atlanta with many visitors coming to see the attractions, so be prepared to wait. Weekday afternoons are typically quieter while mornings tend to be on the busier side. Check local event calendars for sporting events/concerts/races/parades in order to plan for downtown traffic.

Admission to the Children's Museum of Atlanta
Children under the age of one are free. Everyone else is $12.75 + tax. Check other children's museum memberships you may have to see if they are eligible for the reciprocal program. Annual membership options are available as well. The museum is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and closed on Wednesdays certain months. Early hours are available certain days of the year.

Must see/do at the Children's Museum of Atlanta
For children two and under, head to the Crawl Space to let them play, explore and climb in the padded toddler-friendly area. Children will be thrilled to learn they can paint on the wall in the Let Your Creativity Flow exhibit. Multiple year-round exhibits and visiting exhibits provide hours of interactive fun. Be sure to check the calendar for special programs and events.

Other places to visit near the Children's Museum of Atlanta
The museum is conveniently located in Downtown Atlanta amidst other attractions such as Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola. The Georgia Dome and Philips Arena are also nearby along with many restaurants and hotels.

Insider tip for visitors to the Children's Museum of Atlanta
If you have ample time to wait and want to try the museum free of charge, head over the second Tuesday of the month to check it out, courtesy of Target. You can also save money by bringing bag lunches, which are allowed inside the museum.
