Whether it be Germanys famous Lebkuchen, Mozart Kugel, liqueur filled chocolates, or coffee ; Italys Gianduiotti or Strega liquor flavored truffles ; Irelands famous Irish Creme filled truffles ; or Colombias Santander rich dark chocolates, weve got gourmet treats sure to please the palette. Formerly the site of Konditorei (before moving to its current location on Fifth Street), the Candy House of Davis is perhaps the least unpretentious of all the Davis sweet shops. Specializing in beautifully-crafted truffles and chocolates, the store itself is fashioned more after a street front bakery than a cafe, with only one table and nothing other than its candies available for sale. The shop itself is small, with three glass cases displaying trays of confections. Gift baskets and other combinations and specials are available during the holiday seasons. Oftentimes, there are samples of fudge at the front counter as well.
