Nulty Funeral Home was established in 1888 when James T. Nulty began to offer his services as "Practical Embalmer and Undertaker" in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. In 1905, the business moved to 4292 Frankford Avenue, where it still stands proudly on the corner of Church St. Also in 1905, John Nulty joined his father in the funeral home at the age of 16 and began to learn the family business. The tradition continued as Johns son James came into the business in 1938, and James Jr.in 1965. Currently, three generations work together in the funeral home. While Jim continues to supervise the funeral home, the majority of the everyday responsibilities fall to his granddaughter, Sarah and his s0n-in-law, Paul. Mr. Nultys services were called upon only twice the first year, but since then the Nultys have served thousands of families as they face the difficult task of saying goodbye to a loved one. Choose the option that best fits your personal needs. Cremation and burial are both viable options for taking care of you or your loved ones remains. You may pick the option that is easier for you and your family and that will meet any religious and spiritual obligations you may have. We offer traditional burial options for you as well as cremation services. Our funeral home is available to you for visitations and services, and we have close relationships with clergy members from many faiths who will assist you in preparing a religious service if you so desire. It is also very common to hold the entire funeral ceremony, including a viewing or visitation, in your regular church.
