Mayor Jeff Scrima was elected in April 2010. He is a graduate from Wheaton College in Illinois. The mayor grew up in Waukesha and graduated from the Waukesha Public School system.
The mayor's position is full time. He chairs common council and plan commission meetings.

The Town of Brookfield Police Department is staffed 24/7 with full- and part-time police officers, supervised by a police chief, captain, sergeant-detective and patrol sergeant. Police officers patrol and investigate crimes in the town, whose population jumps from about 6,420 residents to about 40,000 residents, workers and visitors when offices and businesses are operating. The town police also provide a neighborhood watch program, security surveys for homes and businesses, vacation home checks, and bicycle safety and stranger danger courses. The town police and fire departments are dispatched by the Waukesha County Communications Center (WCC).
The Waukesha County Courthouse is home to county administrative offices and the court system. The courthouse holds criminal, civil, small claims and family court records. It also has birth and death certificates, marriage licenses and tax payments.
Tom Farley is the Waukesha County corporation counsel, which essentially is the attorney for the county. The office provides child support services, legal direction on county policies, ensures the county is following state statutes and reviews contracts.
The Menomonee Falls government offices are conveniently located in the Menomonee Falls Civic Center. Offices for the village manager, school district, public works, police department, engineering, assessment and parks and forestry are located in one place.
The civic center is also home to Municipal Court, which has jurisdiction in all matters involving violations of Village ordinances. Court is held every Wednesday of the month.
The city attorney's office provides legal advice to city departments. The attorneys frequently speak to members of the public about pending traffic and ordinance litigation. A representative from the city attorney's office assists during Common Council meetings.
The 25-member board of supervisors meets the fourth Tuesday each month at 7pm. Audio podcasts of the board meetings are streamed on the county's website.
The board's chairman is James Dwyer of Menomonee Falls. Waukesha supervisors include Duane Paulson, Jean Tortomasi, Kathleen Cummings, Steven Wimmer and Walter Kolb.
