The Shawnee County Family Resource Center is a nonprofit organization that provides prevention, intervention and treatment services. It offers Gatekeepers, a program that serves vulnerable adults through intake, assessment and referral services with a special focus on physical and mental health issues. The organization offers translation services in verbal and written communication to Spanish-speaking clients. The Shawnee County Family Resource Center also provides the Juvenile Intake and Assessment program, a 24-hour, seven days a week response to children and youths taken into custody by law enforcement agencies. Its family support services include crisis intervention, home visitation and support, and education classes and support groups.
