Sardos Artists Management Corporation was founded in 1955 by the late James Sardos and since his death in 1997, continues under the direction of his wife, Rita De Carlo Sardos. Mr. Sardos managed the careers of many great opera singers, including the legendary Jerome Hines. He also represented important conductors and stage directors and was instrumental in launching the international careers of a number of young singers. During her twenty-eight-year career as a lyric mezzo-soprano, Rita De Carlo sang with some of the worlds greatest singers in many of the important opera companies in the United States and Canada. Her appearances have included Frugola in Il Tabarro with Placido Domingo, Sherrill Milnes, and Louis Quilico, as well as Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana with Placido Domingo. She also sang performances of Bersi and La Vecchia Madelon in Andrea Chenier with Montserrat Caballe, Franco Corelli, and Richard Tucker ; Marina in Boris Godunov with Jerome Hines ; Siebel in Faust with Jerome Hines, William Lewis, and Justino Diaz ; Emila in Otello with Renata Tebaldi, Carol Neblett, Jon Vickers, James McCracken, and Louis Quilico ; Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Mallika in Lakme, and Stefano in Romeo et Juliette with Roberta Peters ; Suzuki in Madama Butterfly with Renata Scotto, Raina Kabaivanska, Gilda Cruz-Romo, Maria Pellegrini, Lando Bartolini, and Giuseppe Campora ; Maddalena in Rigoletto with Renata Scotto, Sherrill Milnes and Louis Quilico ; Fenena in Nabucco with Elena Suliotis, Rita Hunter, Peter Glossop, Ferruccio Furlanetto, and Ezio Flagello ; Preziosilla in La Forza del Destino with Gilda Cruz-Romo, Lucine Amara, Louis Quilico, and Giuseppe Giacomini ; and La Marquise de Berkenfeld in La Fille du R giment with Anna Moffo and Marcello Giordani. After retiring from singing, Ms. Sardos joined the agency as her husbands partner. She continues in the same tradition of representing international artists, as well as guiding and nurturing the careers of many talented young singers. She brings to the management a wealth of knowledge and understanding from the experience of having been an opera singer herself, giving to her artists a very high level of personal attention, and advising them on all the various aspects of a career. Ms. Sardos has also been a member of the faculty of the Austrian American Mozart Academy in Salzburg, Austria, conducting audition seminars.

Young Audiences Arts for Learning, founded in 1952, is the nations leading source of arts-in-education services. Our mission and goal is to help make the arts an essential part of young peoples education. We advance the artistic and educational development of children and youth by bringing them together with professional artists of all disciplines to learn, create and participate in the arts.
