The Berkeley County Summary Court is located in the rather hidden side entrance to an old North Goose Creek Boulevard shopping center. The site used to also house the county treasurer and auditor satellite offices, but those services were closed in 2011.
It's now located between the U.S. Post Office and the county's remaining office for Veteran Affairs.
The court covers countywide traffic, criminal and civil matters. The Goose Creek site is presided over by Judge Edward Sessions.
The Charleston County Treasurer's Office provides tax information to the public and to legal officials, collects personal, motor vehicle and real taxes, and maintains records of taxes collected and dispursed. For Charleston County's online tax system, visit the office's website.
