Tweens and teens can get manicures, pedicures, facials, ear piercing, hair beading and highlighting. Pampering Spa party packages start at $399, and include pampering for each guest followed by snacks, refreshments and games in the lively yellow party room.
Friends Together Nursery has a child-centered program, designed for ages 1.9 years to 4+ years. It has a spacious multi-purpose room, incorporating creative large motor activities, including giant dominoes, tossing games, bike riding and blocks. Its music program, Kinder Music, is part of the regular Monday a.m. and p.m. classes. Its art program has created a child-centered art exploration the children on Wednesdays in the a.m. and p.m. classes.
Friends Together Nursery also welcomes parents to share their interests/skills with the school. The program has incorporated cooking, origami, step dancing, story telling, water coloring, holiday and cultural celebrations as parent activites in the past.
The Port Washington Children's Center, located in the historic Landmark building on Main Street, has been operating as a licensed, nonprofit childcare center since 1977. Thanks to G-d's infinite blessings and the generous support and involvement of members of the community, Chabad of Port Washington has grown rapidly during these ten years. Three years ago we embarked on a new, exciting project: The establishment of an impressive educational campus and Jewish day school in Port Washington. This impressive center has enabled us to do much more. It includes a shul, preschool, day school, Jewish Library and social hall. This year we plan to complete a second phase of construction that will include five classrooms, a gym/lunchroom, science and computer labs, general studies library, music center, resource room, and an ultra-modern mikvah. It's doors will always be open to every single Jew, regardless of their affiliation and background or lack thereof.

Located in Port Washington, the Florence Brownstein Preschool works tirelessly to foster the healthy development of children through art, language and the promotion of Jewish identity. Florence Brownstein's nurturing staff of certified early childhood educators have created a curriculum designed to facilitate the growth of the school's students through music, stories and creative play. Children will engage in a variety of academic- and lifestyle-based activities, including baking, yoga and science projects, all aimed at reinforcing core math and reading skills in preparation for their kindergarten years. In addition, the school works to incorporate elements of the Jewish faith into its robust curriculum, including informal integration of the Hebrew language into daily activities and the reinforcement of Jewish values.
All of this is housed in a state-of-the-art facility, complete with brightly lit, welcoming indoor classrooms, play areas and outdoor playgrounds. Each classroom includes a full kitchenette, mini-bathrooms, fully-equipped security system and full-time instructor supervision, with up to three teachers in a classroom at any one time.
In 2011, Florence Brownstein will also add two brand-new facilities to its already outstanding offerings. Florence's Mini-Israel is functioning, child-size replication of Israeli life right inside the school's indoor gym, complete with Jewish signage and music. In this dual play/education space, students will develop their gross motor skills as they explore the facility's many activities, including shops, an excavation site, a miniature climbing wall and a live feed to the Western Wall in Jersusalem.
Florence's one-third acre Discovery Island is an outdoor classroom that will reproduce the nautical flavor of Port Washington while enabling children to learn and explore in a fun, invigorating environment. On Discovery Island, children will be able to explore a lighthouse and sunken ship and partake in numerous activities in the site's yoga/storytime stadium, herbal gardens and rock climbing area.

Child's World Nursery School (CWNS) has operated as a non-sectarian, non-profit community service of the United Methodist Church of Port Washington for more than 30 years. Child's World participates in the Universal Pre-K Program, under the authorization of the Port Washington School District. The school is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and licensed by the New York Office of Children and Family Services.
CWNS offers programming for 2 to 4 year olds that is designed to stimulate and provide opportunities for individual growth. The philosophy at Child's World Nursery School is that the best way to prepare our children for the future and foster a lifelong love of learning is through the power of play. Through play, children engage their natural inclination to explore, investigate, experiment — a process of learning that has been found to enhance academic success and promote self-esteem. At CWNS, their goal is to promote social, emotional, intellectual and physical development through enriching group activity and discovery, and also to provide an environment in which children learn at their own pace.
Child's World Nursery School offers morning and afternoon classes as well as extended day programming. Students may also participate in a Stay and Play program, an after school initiative that extends your child's day for up to three days per week.
In addition to parent involvement in the classroom experience, the CWNS staff are always available to address questions and concerns about each child's development. Parents will also have the opportunity to meet individually with their child's teacher during two scheduled conferences during the school year.
