Columbus Public Schools includes elementary schools that serve over 1,400 students in grades kindergarten through fifth, middle schools serve more than 800 students in grades sixth through eighth and the high schools offer classes from grades nine through 12. The middle schools provide courses for eighth-graders in mathematics, science and foreign languages. The high schools offer classes in American studies, English, calculus, physics and psychology. Additionally, they offer college placement classes, four years of German and Spanish, and a wide variety of industrial technology classes. In addition the high schools offer fine arts classes, such as band, vocal music and theater. Its schools provide various facilities that include computer labs, library and cafeterias. The schools also offer special education to students with various disabilities. Columbus Public Schools is located in Columbus, Neb.
