The Union City Fire Department is an emergency services provider in the city of Union City, Calif. The department identifies and mitigates potential threats to the community, responds to those threats that cannot be mitigated and provides emergency services when medical emergencies, fires and natural disasters occur in the area. The Union City Fire Department has more than 40 uniformed employees. The department provides emergency services from four fire stations located throughout the city. The department covers nearly 20 square miles and averages approximately 4,500 calls for service a year. Union City Fire Department s inventory includes a quint, fire engines and vehicles with ladders that extend up to 75 feet.

Built in 2009, Alameda County Fire Department Station 33 serves Union City's Decoto District. Formerly Union City Fire Station 3, this is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified green building in the city. The station is staffed by three fighters--a captain, an engineer and a fighter, one of whom is also a paramedic. The station also has two fire engines, one of which is equipped with four-wheel drive to fight wildland fires.
