Ensign Intermediate School, located in Newport Beach, Calif., is a public institution that offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades seven and eight. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,200 students. The course work includes the core classes of mathematics, world history, American history, biology, chemistry, physics, and language arts. Honors courses in language arts and mathematics are available on both grade levels. The school s science program is supported by a fully equipped laboratory which is available to all students. The support programs include intervention, remediation and acceleration learning labs in reading and mathematics, lunch time tutorials and a homework assistance program. The school also has six resource specialists, who work with the students with special needs. Ensign Intermediate School is a part of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
