The article focuses on the transformation of an 8x16 foot kitchen that was inefficiently designed and unattractive to the homeowner. Zylewicz negotiated with the owner of the apartment to make significant changes to the structure without the added expense of moving walls. Instead, Zylewicz suggested centralizing the location of the doorway creating a balanced layout. Additionally, the appliances were replaced with modern stainless steel models and small appliances were stored away inside of cabinetry.
