Dan Ackman is a lawyer who focuses on civil rights, administrative law and constitutional litigation, often for clients with little economic or political power. He has been recognized for his strong commitment to his clients’ rights, intense questioning of his opponents and a willingness to endure the toughest fights. He is best known for successfully representing New York City’s taxi drivers in a series of civil rights actions against the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission. He has represented drivers whose licenses were suspended because of an arrest, and drivers whose licenses have been revoked by the TLC.. . . . Dan is a graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar.
