Erica has a special interest in adolescent health, contraception, preventative care, pregnancy and childbirth. Her pediatric nurse practitioner education is an advantage for providing developmentally appropriate care to adolescents in way that they can understand, empowering them to be an active participant in their care. Erica has also found this portion of her education helpful in assisting families transitioning into parenthood and in preparing siblings for a baby. Erica enjoys providing education to her patients to encourage informed decisions and her care is guided by the goals that women set forth. She encourages a team approach that focuses on the woman as well as her family during pregnancy and childbirth.

I believe a woman is the expert of her body. I see my role as a certified nurse-midwife is to present information to women; and support them as they make health care decisions based on this information. I love so many aspects of being a midwife; from contraception; well woman care; menopause; teen health; IUDs; implants; pre-conception care and of course pregnancy and birth! I love getting to know my patients and understanding what they want to get out of their visits with me.
