Wheaton Montessori School is the only Association Montessori International–approved school in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. It offers curriculum for children from 3 to 12 years of age. The school is non-denominational and non-profit and employs only teachers who have both a masters degrees and teaching certificates.
The school offers a hands-on curriculum that teaches the children responsibility through everyday activities such as washing their own lunch dishes and feeding the fish in the classroom. Basic elementary education is also taught using hands-on techniques.
Diamond Bar Montessori offers elementary level education from kindergarten through the 4th grade. It is located near the intersection of Diamond Bar Boulevard and Palomino Drive.
Main Line Montessori School is located on Sproul Road in Bryn Mawr. Main Line Montessori School has the goal to cultivate every child's desire to learn. Working alone or in small groups, the teachers here encourage children's interests and exploration. Artistic activities are highly encouraged.
The mission of the Skokie Montessori School is to recognize and respect the fundamental value, dignity, talents and special needs of each child. Designed to provide an ample variety of learning experiences geared to the developmental needs of children from two to 12 years old, each program provides a high-level curriculum in the areas of science, geography, mathematics, language, sensorial activities, practical life activities, art and music. Skokie Montessori aims to provide children with a stimulating environment to enhance their interest in learning, while promoting social interaction, emotional development, physical coordination, and cognitive preparation. The Skokie Montessori is a member of the American Montessori Society, and is registered under the Illinois Board of Education and licensed from the DCFS.
Since 1969, Childtowne Montessori has been serving the children and families of the Southampton community. Five mothers founded the school, three of whom still govern on the board of directors. Today, the school provides three preschool rooms, a kindergarten program and an after-care program for older elementary-school children. The school's focus is on "respect for children" and providing joy and self-confidence through the learning experience.
Montessori Country School has been educating students from the Herndon area since 1971. The school offers programs for children ages two-and-a-half to six, including young preschool, preschool and kindergarten classes. The school also offers mixed-age classes. All students must be potty trained before attending Montessori Country School.
This school provides part and full-time care for children ages 1 to 4. Hours vary depending on the needs of parents but school operating times are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fees are due monthly.
