The Seneca Nation of Indians (SNI) is a tribe of the Iroquois Confederacy, which occupies aboriginal lands that are set aside by the Treaty of Canandaigua of 1794 in New York. The tribe has a population of more than 7,200 members. It maintains engineering, health, justice, recreation and environmental protection departments.
