As an orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Dr. Steven Gorin, DO, is passionate about helping his patients of all ages at the Institute of Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics maintain active and healthy lives. To this end, Dr. Gorin offers the latest therapies and surgical techniques to his patients in the North Miami, Florida, community. An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Gorin’s goal is to help his patients recover from shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle injuries and get back to their pre-injury level of activity. Dr. Gorin began his higher education at Sargent College at Boston University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in human physiology in 1994. He went on to earn a master’s degree in sports medicine from the University of Miami in 1996 and his doctor of osteopathic medicine, or DO, from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2000. For his training, Dr. Gorin completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery in 2005 at the Medical Center of Independence in Independence, Missouri. Not stopping there, Dr. Gorin received a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine and stem cell therapies. Dr. Gorin is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and he’s an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopaedics, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Gorin has served as a physician for many athletic teams and clubs and he’s a sports medicine practitioner for USA Soccer Youth. To better serve the North Miami community, Dr. Gorin is bilingual in Spanish.

About Dr. Casas Dr. Carlos Casas is credentialed and has privileges at: Aventura Hospital and Medical Center Aventura Surgery Center Holy Cross Hospital North Shore Hospital Florida Medical Center West Boca Raton Medical Center Boca Raton Surgery & Laser Center Dr. Casas is a bilingual (English-Spanish) neurosurgeon with over 15 years of experience working with men and women of all ages. He currently has offices in Hollywood and Boca Raton, Florida, and is committed to treating all conditions related to the spine, specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS).  Having received his medical doctor degree from the Universidad de la Sabana School of Medicine, Colombia, in 2001, Dr. Casas is well versed in international treatment options. Since then, he’s completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury and Neuroregeneration at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis through the University of Miami, an internship in general surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System for the University of Miami, a residency in neurosurgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, as well as a fellowship in comprehensive spine surgery and radiosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine in California. Dr. Casas is known for his comprehensive approach to managing all spinal conditions and pain. He works with many physicians in the community and is excited to be spearheading the newest treatment options through his practice Comprehensive NeuroSpine. He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Florida Neurological Society, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society. Dr. Casas came to South Florida to enjoy the tropical climate, the beaches, and to be near his family and friends. When he is not working, he enjoys all outdoor activities, and his favorite hobby is diving. El Dr. Carlos Casas es un neurocirujano bilingüe (Inglés-Español) con más de 15 años de experiencia trabajando con con hombres y mujeres de todas las edades. En la actualidad practica en Hollywood y Boca - Florida, y se compromete a tratar todas las condiciones relacionadas con la columna vertebral. Esta especializado en cirugía de columna mínimamente invasiva. Después de haber recibido su título de doctor en medicina de la Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia, en 2001, el Dr. Casas está bien versado en las opciones de tratamiento internacionales. Desde entonces, completó un postdoctorado en lesiones medulares y neuroregeneración en el Proyecto Miami para Curar la Parálisis a través de la Universidad de Miami, un internado en cirugía general en el Hospital Jackson Memorial y en el Hospital de Veteranos asociado a la Universidad de Miami, una residencia en neurocirugía en el hospital Henry Ford en Detroit, Michigan, así como un fellowship en cirugía de columna y radiocirugía de la Escuela Universitaria de Medicina de Stanford en California. El Dr. Casas es conocido por su enfoque integral en en el manejo de todas las patologías de columna y dolor. Trabaja con muchos médicos en la comunidad y está a la vanguardia con los ultimos tratamientos disponibles para el manejo de patologias de columna desde su practica en Comprehensive NeuroSpine. Él es un miembro del Congreso de Cirujanos Neurológicos, la Sociedad Neuroquirurgica de la Florida, la Asociación Americana de Cirujanos Neurológicos, y la North American Spine Society. El Dr. Casas llegó al sur de Florida para disfrutar del clima tropical, las playas, y para estar cerca de su familia y amigos.
