NOLS, also known as National Outdoor Leadership School, is a nonprofit educational facility that has serves more than 75,000 graduates. Founded in 1965, it focuses on outdoor skills and environmental studies. The school also offers a college credit program and organizes seminars and classes. NOLS has partnerships with Scholarship Chicago, GirlVentures and Bronx Lab School. It offers a range of outdoor educational programs. In addition, the school provides academic courses in mountaineering, rock climbing, horsepacking, skiing and wilderness medicine. NOLS educational facilitites include NOLS Yukon, NOLS Patagonia, NOLS Pacific Northwest and NOLS Rocky Mountain. It operates in Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska and Arizona.
