At the turn of the 29th century, Mr. Chester Thornewood had his dream home, an English Tudor/Gothic mansion, built using bricks, stained glass, and other materials shipped froma castle in Europe. One of the few private castles that exist in the United States, Thornewood Castle is now a bed and breakfast on American Lake in Lakewood. Thornewood has a lovely sunken English garden and has 54 rooms, including 22 bedrooms and 22 bathrooms.
