St. Matthew Lutheran Church, originally founded in Collinsville in 1885 as the German Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Matthew, moved to its current location on Route 177 in Avon in 1963, according to the church website. The church is a member congregation of the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Pastor William S. Carter, a Brooklyn native, has been a minister since 1972 in the state of Connecticut and came to St. Matthew in 1984. St. Matthew serves over 250 families. In addition to its Sunday worship services, the church has Sunday school, a choir, youth choir and youth ministry. For those interested in becoming ministers, St. Matthew participates in the ELCA's internship program. Interns are actively on staff for one year at St. Matthew before completing their final year of preparation to become a minister.
St. Andrew's Parish is an anglo-Catholic church with a congregation of 60 members. Mass services are held Monday through Friday at 12:15pm and Sundays at 8am and 10pm. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 - 1pm. All are welcomed.
Rev. William Veinat is the faith leader to more than 400 members of the Church of St. Andrew. The church's ministries include liturgical assistants, readers, nursery care, choir and coffee hour. The church also offers youth groups, pastoral counseling and worship.
Commonly known as "Grace on the Green," Grace Episcopal Church has roots in Windsor that date back to the mid nineteenth century. The church boasts a membership of more than 200 and provides a multitude of programs to members, including Sunday school, music and adult education programs, and a children's and an adult choir. The church regularly publishes a newsletter and offers two weekly worship services in addition to traditional weekend services. The church also houses Cool Kids Clothes, a children's consignment shop that is an outreach program of the church.
The Islamic Association of Greater Hartford makes its home in a beautiful mosque, built in 2008. The organization's mission is "to establish Islam as a way of life within the Muslim community, promote it in the American society and share this vision with other Muslim communities across the country."
The Life Church in Granby is a non-denominational Christian church located at 23 Griffin Rd. The church is led by Pastors Al and Christine Royal.

Founded in 1697, First Church of Christ has a long, active history that the church, with a congregation of more than 600 families, continues today.
