The Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center is located on the University of Nevada campus near downtown Reno. The Planetarium has numerous free science exhibits, a gift shop, a full dome theater that shows star shows and documentaries and some very unusual architecture.

Best and worst time to go to the Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center
The museum is open every day, but some weekdays can be full of school classes. Some of the best times to go are when the various shows are showing in the full dome theater or during a special star viewing or telescope night.

Must see/do at the Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center
The shows at the Planetarium are really great, sit in the back rows for the best viewing of shows on space, science and nature. The free exhibits that feature a 6 foot rotating moon are interactive and fun for all ages.

Admission to the Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center
The admission cost for the exhibits are free. The shows are $7 for adults and teens, $5 for children under 12, seniors 60 and over.

Parking and public transportation to the Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center
There is space for about 15 cars in the Planetarium parking lot. There is also parking at the nearby Nevada Historical Society. Be sure not to park outside these lots—the University owns these spots and they will ticket if you do not have a permit. The Sierra Spirit bus costs only 25 cents and stops near the museum.

Food at the Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center
There are no restaurants at the Planetarium, but the University of Nevada Joe Crowley Student Union has several restaurants including Cantina Del Lobo and Starbucks.

The gift shop also has some great gift ideas like freeze-dried ice cream and other NASA toys.

The best time visit the MOSH, between Labor Day and Memorial Day, is between 11:00 and 3:30. Though summertime visits will be busier, the museum will be just as enjoyable.

The Planetarium is a favorite stop within the museum, providing amazing weather-related films, a tour of the solar system and, for the little ones, Sesame Street movies. Priding itself on being the largest digital single lens planetarium in the country, the MOSH's Planetarium provides a state-of-the-art movie experience.

'The Body Within' core exhibit is a walk-thru of the human body, providing a unique and interesting look at how the human body works.

'Currents of Time' allows visitors to time-warp back 12,000 years to learn the history of Northeast Florida from the Timucuas to the '60s.

Admission prices are divided into the following three groups: Adults, children 3-12, and seniors, students and military. The ticket prices range between $6-10.

There are two free parking lots for visitors, and also spaces within walking distances that offer paid parking. For those arriving by taxi, there is a circle drive in front of the museum that can be used as a drop-off location.

The MOSH is a nursing free environment, allowing nursing mothers to freely breastfeed in public. They also provide access to St. Vincent's Healthcare First Aid Room, if privacy is preferred. Stroller rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are $2.00.

A great time to go is during a special event or lecture series. Noted paleontologists, astrophysicists, geologists, anthropologists and other experts in the field of science have given lectures in the auditorium. Visit the website for current lecture schedule. The Planetarium and Observatory are open from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The Miami Science Museum is open everyday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is between $10 and $20. Discounted tickets are available for students, seniors, children and Miami residents on community days. .
