Industrial Equipment Sales & Service has been supplying high quality products and services to the oil and gas industry in western North Dakota for over 10 years.
In July of 1999, with the downturn in business, Stewart & Stevenson sold the Williston branch and territory; leaving the area with no industrial equipment provider. With a combined 56 years of work experience in the natural gas, oilfield and industrial business, co-owners Stew Vachal, Rory Anderson, and Dean Klein took advantage of this opportunity to form Industrial Equipment Sales & Service.
Vachal, Anderson and Klein were able to hire 8 of the 11 employees that were left after Stewart & Stevenson left, adding an additional 45 years of experience in the field.
IESS is continually adding new products and expanding the business to fit the growing needs of the oil and gas industry in and around Williston, ND. Our goal is to join hands with you as a customer or vendor, to supply high quality products and services that will fit with our high quality staff.
President – Stewart Vachal
IESS President Stewart Vachal has been working in the oil and gas industry for over 35 years. He graduated from the North Dakota State School of Science with a degree in Parts Management. He then started working as the Parts Person for a Waukesha Engine distributor in Williston, ND in 1974. He was promoted to Parts Manager, District Salesman, District Manager and finally Regional Manager for North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. When the company was sold to Steward and Stevenson, Vachal was manager over Williston, ND and Casper, WY. He was hired by S&S to manage the Williston branch until 1999 when the facility and Waukesha distributor was sold. From there, Industrial Equipment was born.
Partner – Rory Anderson
Rory Anderson is a life-long North Dakota resident and played an integral role in the development of Industrial Equipment, SS. Anderson graduated from Williston High School in 1978 and attended welding school at the North Dakota State School of Science. He returned to Williston in 1980 and went to work for Seco Truck Equipment as a welder. In 1987, he went to work for Pamco as a shop hand, where he then worked his way up to Service Manager. In 1999, when Stewart and Stevenson was sold, Anderson went into partnership with Stewart Vachal and Dean Klein to help start Industrial Equipment Sales & Service.
Treasurer – Dean Klein
Dean Klein provides priceless knowledge and experience that has been an asset in growing Industrial Equipment. He graduated from UND Williston College with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Klein worked in Idaho for in implement dealer until moving back to Williston in 1979 where he began working for the Waukesha Engine distributor as a shop mechanic. He quickly moved up to Lead Field Service Technician and then to Service Manager. Klein stayed in the Service Department after the buy-out from Stewart & Stevenson and in 1999 partnered up with Stewart Vachal to form Industrial Equipment when Stewart & Stevenson was sold. He has attended most of the Waukesha Service Schools at Waukesha, WI and was two schools away from receiving his gold wrenches from Waukesha Engine.
