A Ministry: KIAM is owned and operated by Voice for Christ Ministries, a nonprofit Christian missionary outreach. Every Announcer, Engineer or Secretary working at the facilities of KIAM are missionaries receiving financial support from individuals and churches, or is a self-supported volunteer. Our History: KIAM has been on the air since June 28, 1985. Originally broadcasting on 1270kHz AM the broadcast facilities were upgraded and began broadcasting on 630kHz in late 1986. KIAM now broadcasts at 10kW during the day and 3.1kW at night. The Network: To better reach rural Alaska, KIAM is the headquarters for the I AM Radio Network. This means that KIAMs programming is re-broadcast on translators and much of KIAMs programming is taken by and the Victory Radio Network in Naknek.
