Landry s Restaurants, a seafood restaurant company, opened its first location in Katy, Texas, in 1980. It owns and operates several restaurant chains, including Landry s Seafood House, Joe s Crab Shack, Willie G s Seafood & Steakhouse and The Crab House. Landry s Restaurants expanded into many restaurant chains, hotels and bars, as well as an aquarium and a casino. In September 2005, Landry s Restaurants purchased The Golden Nugget Las Vegas casino. In February 2006, the company acquired an 80 percent interest in the restaurant concept T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure, A Place to Eat, Shop, Explore and Discover from Schussler Creative. Also in 2006, Landry s announced that Joe s Crab Shack is schedule to open the company s first international location in Cairo, Egypt. With more than 130 locations in the state, Luby s cafeteria serves millions of hungry Texans each year. This is reflected in the company s advertising slogan: Tastes Like Texas, Feels Like Home.
