Founded in 1987, the Cooke Center for Learning & Development is a provider of school-based special education services in New York City. It operates with more than 50 schools, head start centers and child care centers and screens over 1,500 students to identify developmental and language delays every year. The center focuses on improving preschool learning, providing individualized instruction to children, ongoing support and advocacy services to their families, coordinating various internships, community service and paid employment opportunities to middle and high school students. It also offers training for teachers, child care workers and professionals. The center consists of various educational centers, including elementary and high schools.
