Ranchito Elementary School, established in 1953, is a Title I school that has a staff of more than 35 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals. It provides academic classes in a variety of subjects, such as computer applications, language arts, English, math, science, social studies, art, music, reading, life skills, and health and physical education. Ranchito Elementary School operates a library media center that provides access to more than 2,000 magazines, newspapers, books, maps, pictures, radio and TV transcripts, and English and Spanish encyclopedias. The school is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, which is one of the largest school systems in the United States with a total enrollment of nearly 707,500 students in over 800 educational institutions. Ranchito Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five.
