St. Mary Parish serves Buffalo Grove's Catholic community. The church offers 75 ministries for all ages, including choirs, youth groups, men's and women's clubs. St. Mary also offers a religious education program. Located on the church grounds is St. Mary School, which provides education for preschoolers and students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Twin Groves Middle School is one of two District 96 schools that serve sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. All Twin Groves students hail from Buffalo Grove. The school's mascot is the "kolt." Students at Twin Groves previously attended Ivy Hall and Prairie Elementary Schools, and later enroll at Stevenson High School.
Little University is within the Korean Church and community center off of Arlington Heights Road. Its emphasis is on early learning in all subject matters, such as reading, writing, math, science, music and art, as well as computer skills. Acting as a daycare and early education provider, the school has a Montessori-based system that encourages active participation and thinking in children.
Montessori World of Discovery offers an individualized program of learning, so that each child progresses at his or her own pace. The school, founded in 1990, encourages cooperation instead of competition, and recognizes the need for a close relationship between parents and teachers to more fully meet each child's needs.
Located in a residential area in the heart of Buffalo Grove, Joyce Kilmer Elementary serves children in kindergarten through fifth grade within the boundaries of District 21. The school mascot is the cougar.
Kilmer Principal Kim Zinman and PTO members take pride in the diversity of the school, which serves children from Buffalo Grove as well as Wheeling. Kilmer staff members are focused on the needs of each child and helping students learn through traditional academics as well as finding teaching opportunities based on students' strengths and interests.
The school has a dedicated PTO which uses money raised through events such as an annual gift wrap sale to provide cultural arts experiences, evening and weekend programs and supplementary materials for the school.

Located on West Dundee Road, Tiny Treasures is a children's resale shop that buys and sells gently worn clothing, books and other items for newborns and teenagers alike.
