The Abundant Life Christian Center Church is an evangelical church as well as a school and "Learning Center." In the day care, known as the Learning Center, you will find children from three- to 24-months old. The pre-school and pre-K age-range is from 2 to 5 years. There is also an elementary and middle school that runs up to 8th grade. The center stresses Christian philosophy and beliefs in all its classrooms. It was founded in 1982 by the First Baptist Church of Wilmington and moved into its current 21,000-square-foot space in 1996.
Children's Own School is located on Main Street near the Winchester/Medford line. It opened in 1942 and is a pre-school for children ages 3-6. The school offers 4 programs based on the Montessori system: Primary Program, Extended Day, Afternoon Enrichment and Summer Nature.

Wellesley Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1945 and is dedicated to the education of young children. The Roxbury-Weston Programs is comprised of the Roxbury Weston Preschool and C.A.T.C.H. (Children Achieving Through Community Hope) After school programs. The program was started by families from Weston and Roxbury in 1965, as a way to bring together suburban and urban families. Both programs serve children from Dorchester, West Roxbury, Hyde Park, Lincoln, Mattapan, Roxbury, Roslindale, Weston, Sudbury, Waltham, Wayland and Wellesley. The preschool is located in Weston in the First Parish Church; the after school program is located in Roxbury in the Church of Christ.
Started by a group of parents in Cambridge in 1971, The Waldorf School of Lexington has been housed at the former Adams Elementary School since 1980. The new campus is situated between Massachusetts Avenue and the 185-acre Great Meadow.
As part of the Waldorf model of education, teachers at the school stay with the same students as they progress from 1st grade through graduation. The Waldorf School also offers nursery, kindergarten and after-school programs.
