The East Greenbush Central School District serves approximately 5,000 students through its elementary, middle and high schools that include Genet Elementary School, Bell Top Elementary School, Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School, Goff Middle School and Columbia High School in New York. The school district offers merit scholarships, school diplomas and vocational programs through Columbia High School. In addition, the East Greenbush Central School District provides a four-year honors program and interscholastic sports and club activities. Goff Middle School features a library and theater, as well as conducts field trips. Its elementary schools academic curriculum includes math and reading programs. The East Greenbush Central School District offers a special education program for students with special needs between the ages of 3 and 21. The school district is affiliated with the Hudson Valley Community College and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It has a staff of nearly 600 people. Genet Elementary School operates a parent-teacher organization that sponsors various fundraising events.
