The Calumet County Sheriff s Department is a law enforcement agency that protects residents lives, property and individual rights, as well as maintains peace and order. It operates a jail facility that houses inmates who are in pending trial status and serving misdemeanor sentences. The Calumet County Sheriff s Department maintains a patrol division that responds to calls for service, conducts initial and follow-up investigations and investigates traffic accidents. The department also employs a school resource officer that works in several of schools in the county. The Calumet County Sheriff s Department has an Emergency Response Team (ERT) that is a multijurisdictional emergency team.
