Kentucky Kingdom is a seasonally operated theme park that also includes a water park, Hurricane Bay. The park is proudly transparent about its gardening practices and includes more than fifty showcase gardens on its 63 acres. Although there are no official resort hotels, there are plenty of options close by. Budget-friendly Super 8 Louisville Expo Center is only a few steps away, and offers complimentary breakfast.

Best and Worst Times to go to Kentucky Kingdom
The park is seasonal, so it is typically only open mid-April to mid-September. Wednesdays seem to be the best day to visit, if you are looking for a lighter traffic day. Active and retired military typically get free admission, as well as steep family discounts around the Fourth of July.

Discounts have been known to be available through The Tennessean and AAA. Call the park before you go to ask about coupons or discounts that may be available.
Food at Kentucky Kingdom
Sandwiches and southern fare can be found at Swapwater Jacks. A fried chicken meal with two sides like mac n' cheese and baked beans with a biscuit or a burger with fries will cost about $10-13. Lighter options like grilled chicken tacos and salads can be found at Tequila Tacos for a couple bucks less.
Parking at Kentucky Kingdom
Parking is free for season pass holders; otherwise it is $8 - $11. Gate 2 gives you the closest access to the park. There is another lot across the courtyard. Both offer handicap spaces. If you are staying at a nearby hotel, many offer free shuttle service.
Transportation Alternatives to Kentucky Kingdom
Public transportation bus service is available through TARC at gate 2 and gate 3. TARC also travels to and from the airport.

This climbing gym is located in the enormous, renovated Belmont Theatre. It offers 19,000 square feet of climbing including 80 top ropes that reach 50 feet high. A complete fitness facility, Planet Granite also features a variety of yoga and other fitness programs at its clean and well-maintained property. Also, its staff is friendly and helpful.
A recent survey by the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) observes that the popularity of billiards, as a sport, has been steady since 2000. Yale Billiards has been around longer to grow its fan-base. It's been at its Yale Plaza, Yale Avenue location, for over 15 years.
Part of the fun are the leagues. There's the Monday 8-Ball League, and Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday night APA leagues. Many players are drawn to the Thursday and Saturday night discounts and specials. Corporate outings and birthday parties are also hosted here.
A bar and lounge are in the front, as you enter the building, with the billiards tables in the next room to the back.
The Hampshire Dome is an indoor sports complex offering a variety of fields and resources in its 94,000-square-foot facility. It contains a turf area that can be used as one large field or three smaller fields. It has an Olympic running track, a rollerway with banked turns for biking, rollerblading and more, a 315-foot golf driving range, batting cages and field turf fields that can be used for baseball, softball, lacrosse, football, field hockey and other sports. The facility is used by sports leagues, teams and clubs, and offers sports-specific training programs and clinics. The dome's facilities can be rented for events, and the facility also includes a function center that hosts catered parties and gatherings.

Fredericksburg Field House is an indoor athletic facility with artificial turf. The 75,000-square-foot building offers league play for soccer, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, dodgeball, quickball, among other sports.
With locations in Middleton, Saugus and Easton, Golf Country has been offering golf since 1955, when the first driving range was added at the Richardson Family Dairy Farm. In 1990, Golf Country was officially founded and has since expanded to include a variety of amusements. Golf Country can be rented out for private birthday parties and individual customers can come for golf camps, an indoor practice center and lessons. At Easton there is also miniature golf, batting cages and an ice cream stand.
