The Minnesota Department of Transportation, also known as Mn/DOT, develops and implements policies, plans and programs for highways, railroads, commercial waterways, aeronautics, public transit systems and motor carriers. The department administers the Adopt-A-Highway program. It maintains more than five district offices. The Minnesota Department of Transportation offers highway maintenance and transportation planning services. It has completed projects for Oslo Bridge and Mississippi River Trail. The department also sells properties and buildings. The Minnesota Department of Transportation issues driver and vehicle licenses, as well as operates a motor vehicle title and registration office. The department maintains state aid, engineering services, and model planning and program management divisions.
