Maersk Line, based in Norfolk, Va., is a global, provider of logistics, maritime and transportation services to United States government agencies and their prime contractors. The company combines the expertise and intermodal network of its parent company A. P. Moller-Maersk, one of the worlds largest shipping concerns, with industry-leading technology to meet the objectives of customers. The company has provided the U.S. government with transportation and maritime services for more than 40 years, including every major military operation from the Vietnam War to those in Afghanistan and Iraq. Maersk Line consists of five business units. These units comprise U.S. flag liner services, integrated defense logistics, contract vessel management, specialized vessel management and vessel life cycle management.
