Bishop Maxwell leads The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Chester. This church site is the local meeting house of the Mormon community. Mormons believe that the Restoration of the Gospel was brought about by God through Joseph Smith, author of the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a witness to Jesus Christ in which an understanding of Jesus' teachings are written.  Thus the central purpose of the Church is to help families reconcile with Christ Jesus. Members of the church freely avail themselves of their time and resources in helping the sick and needy and serve as missionaries around the world performing baptisms.
