Police Chief Timothy J. Malley says keeping the streets of Lakewood safe is his No. 1 priority. And he's not afraid to share that with anyone who asks him.
The police department employs more than 130 men and women, including 30 officers posted at the city's schools. There are also 25 auxiliary officers who volunteer on an as-needed basis. In addition to the department's headquarters on Detroit Avenue, there are also four posts (one for each ward of the city) where neighborhood police officers are stationed.
