Established in 1975, Westlake Middle School enrolls more than 1,100 students in grades six through eight. The school offers academic programs in various subjects, such as geography, mathematics, English, history, science, language arts and Spanish. It also provides classes in physical education, computer science and art. Westlake Middle School operates a choir group and music band. The school additionally offers psychological counseling services and special education classes. Its athletic activities include football, softball, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field. Westlake Middle School conducts parent-teacher conferences. The school organizes educational field trips and orchestra concerts. It is administered by Adams 12 Five Star Schools, which governs several elementary, middle and high schools.
