Wynkoop Brewing Company is a restaurant, pub and pool hall in Denver. The company is named after Edward W. Wynkoop, the first sheriff of Denver. Wynkoop Brewing Company was founded in 1988 in the J.S. Brown Mercantile Building. The first floor is the restaurant area with the second floor of the building home to Wynkoop Billiards. The pool hall has more than 20 pool tables, private poolrooms, dart lanes and a bar. In the basement is the Impulse Theater, which provides comedy, theater and audience-interaction plays and skits on Thursday through Saturday. Wynkoop Brewing Company is located off 18th Street in lower downtown Denver.
