New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit organization that offers long-term housing solutions for low-income families. The organization, also known as NOAHH, builds houses in partnerships with several sponsors, volunteers, communities and homeowners. Founded in 1983, it provides maintenance and repair services for homes. New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity additionally conducts workshops to prepare individuals for homeownership purposes. The organization, in partnership with the Baptist Crossroads Foundation, has sponsored more than 400 homes. In addition, it operates an online store that stocks a variety of caps, T-shirts, posters, coffee mugs and home d cor items. New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity offers sponsorship opportunities for various corporations and foundations.
