It is especially interesting for those interested in architecture.

Parking and Public Transportation at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
Ample parking is located underneath the memorial building at the center of South Temple Street. Parking does cost around $10 but you can receive a 3-hour validation if you dine at one of the restaurants located in the building. If you'd rather take public transportation, Utah Transit Authority has several bus and light-rail stops around Temple Square that are very convenient to the memorial building.

Best and Worst Time to Go to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
If you would like to see some excellent views of Salt Lake City, be sure and visit the memorial building during the evening after the sun goes down. Typically, October and November would be the ideal months for this. Avoid December, and especially Christmastime, as the building and surrounding area will be filled with locals visiting the square to see the Christmas lights.

As with the rest of the buildings located at Temple Square, admission to the memorial building is free. This includes entry to the Family Search Center and the Legacy Theater. However, free tickets are required to view evening showings at the theater.

Must See/Do at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
Don't rush through the building. Most days feature a pianist playing in the lobby which provides an opportunity to sit and relax for a few minutes before heading to the next attraction. In addition, take some time to notice the elegant architectural features adorning the memorial building. They are truly one-of-a-kind.

Insider Tip for Visitors to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building
If you visit the building during the cold Utah winter and are in need of something warm to eat or drink, pay a visit to the Nauvoo Cafe. You'll be able to warm up without spending money at a sit-down style restaurant, yet you'll still have some great views of the city.
