The organization has a mobile food pantry, as well as a food pantry on the premises.

As Good As Gold Golden Retriever Rescue has been operating since 2003 and has placed over 1,200 dogs with new families. As Good As Gold is a home-based office that places the relinquished dogs directly with foster families until an adoptive family has filled out the appropriate paperwork, has had a home visit and is deemed fit for their new Golden Retriever.
The thrift store is a fund-raising organization for Home of the Sparrow. Used clothes, china, curios and housewares are for sale here. The net income of the shop goes to support transitional apartments for homeless women and their children.

The Great Lakes Protection Fund was founded in 1989 to oversee and protect the health of the Great Lakes. The Women's Exchange is just a couple of blocks north of Elm Street on Lincoln Avenue in the Winnetka Community Center. It is a women's group that offers, "programs in a supportive environment for all women to share ideas and information, to learn, to grow, to build relationships and to have fun." Class topics range from food and art to courses on life planning and divorce and are offered in both the daytime and evening. The Women's Exchange also hosts special events, such as retreats, which are open to everyone.

Founded in 1919, Alexander Bradley Burns Post 80 of the American Legion is surrounded by manicured lawns and imposing war memorials. The Post has several committees devoted to community service, with a special focus on youth. Members of the Post and their sons and auxiliary members also participate in the Legion Riders program. ABB Post 80 hosts bingo, pull tab and raffle games at 4:30pm each Tuesday. The Post also rents space for special events. Downers Grove Field (Traffic) Court is held at the Post at 8:30am and 1pm, Monday through Friday.
