The Echo Park Pool Complex is a recreational facility open year-round to residents of the Town of Hempstead and visitors with the purchase of a daily, seasonal or annual pass. Discounts are available for residents, families, children and seniors. The park features a pool complex with indoor and seasonal outdoor pools that have designated lap swimming lanes. There is also a diving tank with three diving boards, including a high dive. Lifeguards are on duty all year long. Men's and women's locker rooms offer showers, a sauna and steam room, lockers and a small fitness area with cardio and weight training equipment. There is also a baseball field located on the premises. A snack shop, vending machines, tables and a common room are located on the second floor; organizations such as the West Hempstead Senior Citizens hold meetings, exercise classes and events here.

Creative Art Space for Kids (CASK) is a foundation devoted to helping children build their self-esteem, strengthen creative skills and develop individuality through art. Located on Atlantic Avenue, CASK is a nonprofit visual arts center offering art classes and public art projects for children and teenagers. Some of the classes provided are clay and pottery, digital photography and Photoshop, and drawing and painting. CASK hosts many events and field trips for the students, and it also offers a small selection of adult programs, including pottery lessons.

Splash! Whack! For more than 50 years, Deepdale Gardens Community Center has offered Little Neck residents a place to cool off at its large L-shaped swimming pool as well as heat up at two tennis courts.

Conveniently located on Little Neck Parkway, Deepdale Gardens Community Center also boasts a hardball court, basketball court and fenced-in playground with three slides and jungle gym. The center's recreation facilities are open for the months of July and August only.

The Village Club of Sands Point, formerly the IBM Country Club, was once the estate of Isaac Guggenheim. The manor house was started by him in 1916 and completed in 1918. After his death in 1922, the property reverted to his estate and then, in 1924 was purchased at auction by his brother, Solomon R. Guggenheim. Another brother, Daniel Guggenheim, had an estate further north on the Point which is now occupied by the Nassau County Park System and his son, Harry Guggenheim, continued to reside on an adjoining estate until his death in 1971. These men were the sons of Meyer Guggenheim who, together with their father and brothers, developed their investments in mining, smelting and refining into one of the major American family fortunes.The Club property, facing on Hempstead Harbor covers approximately 210 acres.

Landmark on Main Street is a not-for-profit community center dedicated to strengthening the spirit of community by presenting and promoting opportunities for cultural, educational, recreational, social and civic activities for the benefit of the people of Port Washington and neighboring communities.

Landmark on Main Street is a national, state and local historical landmark. Built in 1908, thousands of Port Washington students were educated in what was then known as the Main Street School until it closed in 1985. Thanks to a true grassroots effort, Landmark opened its doors as a community center on November 5, 1995. With 59 units of affordable housing for seniors and the developmentally disabled on our upper floors, Landmark is also home to the Port Washington Youth Council's Teen Center, the Port Washington Parent Resource Center, the Port Washington Children's Center and the Doctors' Gymnasium.

The Jeanne Rimsky Theater is also housed at Landmark. Used from 1916-1985 as the Main Street School auditorium, the Jeanne Rimsky Theater has been renovated to provide 425 comfortable seats, a state-of-the-art sound system, a magnificent Steinway Concert Grand D piano, and an intimate setting to connect with the performers from anywhere in the theater.

Landmark has hosted sold-out performances including musicians such as The Bacon Brothers, Joan Osborne, Broadway's Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christine Ebersole, Kelli O'Hara and Brian d'Arcy James, Latin-Pop star Raul Malo, and folk/rock icons Judy Collins, Steve Earle, Richie Havens, Janis Ian, Lucy Kaplansky, Shelby Lynne, Rickie Lee Jones, Jorma Kaukonen, The Kingston Trio, Tom Paxton, Jean Ritchie, Martin Sexton, Richard Shindell, Suzanne Vega and Dar Williams.

The Jeanne Rimsky Theater also offers affordable rental space where a variety of events take place, such as dance performances, film screenings, opera rock concerts, body building exhibitions and much more.

The Parent Resource Center, located in the Landmark Building on Main Street, is a non-profit cooperative and vital part of the Port Washington community. This is a place where adults share the joys and challenges of parenting, while the kids play in a safe environment. Volunteers arrange lectures and parenting classes, adult get-togethers, community initiatives and offer babysitting services. You can even host your child’s birthday party here with one of the Center staff.
