Gospel Assembly has been serving the Urbandale community for decades. In addition to its local charity works, the church performs its mission through the operation of its school on the same site.
Old Brick is a historic landmark and the second oldest building in Iowa City. Built in 1856, it has been designated on the National Register of Historic Places. The building now serves as a community center and houses several non-profit organizations, such as Table to Table, Peace Iowa, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and more. Old Brick also has an auditorium available to rent for meetings, events, lectures and weddings.
Ankeny Baptist Church is affiliated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, the Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches and Faith Baptist College and Theological Seminary. It offers many ministries to its congragation, including study groups, choir and youth programs.
St. Boniface is a Catholic church named after Saint Boniface which means "to follow Christ is to follow the way of the Cross." The church believes in the following tenets: help each other live out Christ-like values in everyday life, build a community of support to nurture values and spirituality, help each person contribute to the mission of God’s love through the ministry of Jesus Christ.
Urbandale United Church of Christ is a religious institution. This progressive church is a "Just Peace" church and openly welcomes gay congregation members. The church is active in the community through a number of missions, including the arts, community activism and performing same-sex marriages.
The Presbytery of Des Moines is a religious organization. Developed to serve as a resource to Presbyterian ministers, the Presbytery offers meeting spaces, lectures and materials as well as moral support and guidance. The staff here says that its mission is to support and affirm all congregations, extending the minstry of local and regional churches.
